What is planning statement?

  • When applying for complex commercial developments or multi-unit residential – led developments, a formal planning statement will be required to address the specific planning policies used to determine the viability of the development.
  • Planning statements address local, national and regional policies as well as supplementary planning guidance and the London plan where necessary.
  • These reports form the backbone for council review of the scheme. Where scheme can be shown to comply with the various constraints on site, the local planning authority will be minded to support the development.
  • Our experienced planners, regularly prepare planning statements for large complex development, reviewing policy basis from transport, Amenity, access, bulk, mass, refuse storage, overshadowing etc. Where schemes do to not comply with specific policy, our experienced planning consultants prepare documented arguments to overcome such shortfalls to see applications approved.
